Though the practice of yoga, I believe we can all find health love and peace within ourselves, and that we can extend this energy as a vibrant wave of health around the Planet.

Cailen

Cailen Van TighemMy yogic path began as a child in Bragg Creek where my mother taught yoga in our community. My love and passion for movement lead me to dance. I then took up yoga as part of my flexibility and strength training when I moved to Vancouver to pursue dance professionally. I found my yoga offered a peaceful place in the competitive world of professional dance, and helped me find presence and compassion.

In the spring of 2009 I attended the Kripalu Institute Yoga Teacher training in Lennox, Massachusetts. Kripalu is world renown for “transformational yoga”: teaching body-awareness and self-awareness as essential elements of yoga movement, meditation and pranayama or “life breath”. Earlier this year, I also completed my level 1 Yin/Yang and mindfulness meditation teacher training with Sarah Powers. Since my time at Kripalu I have been teaching at several studios and corporations in Calgary and look forward to bringing this experience to the Bragg Creek community.

My objective as a Yoga teacher is to guide others towards finding  self-awareness, self-acceptance and ease through yogic movement and breath. When we are present with ourselves, we are able to be present for others and truly enjoy the connections life brings. As both a student of life and as a teacher of yoga my hope is to share the gifts of compassion, wisdom, freedom and health that yoga has given me.

Emma

Living close to nature for a lifetime has inspired my yoga practice for the past 12 years.

I vividly remember finding "that certain something" I'd been searching for upon attending my first yoga class.  It was an instant feeling of being comfortably at home.  The awarenessyoga brought to my breath was revolutionary giving me a simple, profound and personal tool
for navigating  the challenges of life.  I have lived in Bragg Creek since 1998 and with patientguidance from Amarin I've deepened my yoga practice, and continued to experience many"A-ha" moments along the way.

When my daughter was born five years ago I gave up a demanding career as a film editor and devoted my time to her.  What a blessing it was to have that choice. Time has flown by. She teaches me about who I am and what my intention is on this planet Earth.  Most profoundly, being a mother has opened my heart to experience unconditional love.  Now she is entering school and more time has become available to me. It felt natural to enroll in yoga teacher training.  In February 2012, I completed the intensive "Interdisciplinary Yoga Teacher Training" at the Nosara Yoga Institute in Costa Rica.  I studied with Amba and Don Stapleton, the inspiring founders and directors of the institute, who have over 40 years of combined yoga teacher training experience at NYI and Kripalu Institute.

On a personal level I have received so many benefits to my physical, mental, emotional and spiritual self through yoga. It is my intention as a teacher to guide others to awaken to the joy and peace within themselves through the practice of yoga, strengthening connections to our highest selves, our families, our communities, and Mother Earth.  Namaste   Emma

Jessie

My path to yoga started as a young child taking walks though the forest with my grandfather
and what I encountered on our silent trips. Myimagination is a wild place, and the seeds that
were planted on those walks together set  me on my life’s path.  It was my first classroom

where I learnt of connection, love of our earth, and to my true self.  I fiercely began looking for
understanding, meaning, love, purpose, “something” even as a young child; I remember feeling
like a nomad, observer and a hunter for something that I could never quite see.  Now rather
than hunting for “something”, I have found that what I need within my own being because
of yoga.  “It” is within myself;  therefore everyone, and everything else.

The beautiful part about my experience with Yoga is that it has woven itself gently into my life for almost 20 years. While I trained for hockey, made dark choices, while I was heart broken, vulnerable, then joyful, when I travelled, for the birth of my first baby, and it has been waiting with patience. I am currently living in Bragg Creek, (where I grew up) with my husband Vince and my baby Juniper Evelynn.
